To help employees understand their roles better, and to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform at their roles, Oiltanking Asia Pacific (Oiltanking) embarked on a workplace transformation project to refine its current On-the-Job Training (OJT) regime.

Oiltanking is committed to employee development and creating a conducive environment for workplace learning. Through the LEA project, we have made further improvements to our on-house On-the-Job Training (OJT) regime by working closely with IAL’s appointed Consultant.

We have seen more of our employees benefiting as a result. This helped to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency in the terminal and raised the spirt of ownership among our employees. This project is the step in the right direction, especially in these trying times.

Interventions

To create a conducive environment for workplace learning, and successfully develop its talents, the Project Team at Oiltanking is presently in the midst of undertaking the following:

Reviewing current OJT and programmes

Streamlining workplace training approaches and methodologies

Providing guidance on the review of current OJT and classroom training to improve staff competencies and improve workplace productivity

Mapping out current competencies gap and propose relevant courses for staff

Implementing the Skills Framework and courseware development through coaching and guiding
