Challenges

Being part of the construction industry, SHI faces challenges such as labour shortage amidst tight budget. This made it imperative to upskill internal capability and enhance staff performance and productivity.

As companies across industries are adopting and embracing technology to ramp up their training to build staff capability, SHI embarks on workplace learning initiatives and interventions to complement their training efforts.

Interventions

The project team organised sharing sessions to discuss and evaluate better customer management interventions:

1

Development of resources such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in training, SOP blueprints and training videos to increase productivity through upskilling of staff

2

Implementation of an OJT using the newly developed SOPs and OJT blueprints that enable Managers to train, revise and develop OJT blueprints to adapt to changing service requirements on their own

3

Initiation of on-site demo and hands-on training in small groups to supplement training videos to build staff capability

4

Empowerment of Managers to train more trainers, expand and revise training contents to make training more relevant with OJT Blueprint process

5

Development of bite-sized training modules with training videos uploaded on mobile phones to enable easy comprehension and flexibility to learn on-the-go for staff to build their knowledge

6

Introduction of Action Learning Methodology to help improve, refine and continuously improve on the content of the learning resources
